FORT WAYNE, Ind. (CTSFW)—On
Friday, September 25, 2015, Dr. Maggie Karner entered life eternal
following a valiant battle with brain cancer. On Saturday, October 3,
there will be a memorial service for her at Concordia Theological
Seminary (CTSFW), Fort Wayne, Indiana. The service will begin at 2:30
p.m. (EDT) in Kramer Chapel. Those who cannot be on campus can watch the
service by going to www.ctsfw.edu and clicking on “Dr. Maggie Karner Memorial Service” under Livestream Events.Maggie and her husband, the Rev. Kevin Karner, have deep ties to the Midwest as both of them have family who live in the region. Additionally, Rev. Karner served as pastor at Grace Lutheran Church, Muncie, Indiana, for many years, and Maggie formed relationships with many people in the Midwest through her work with The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod’s Life and Health Ministries. Maggie was also awarded an honorary doctorate by the CTSFW faculty in January 2015. Because of those ties, the CTSFW community wanted to make it possible to have the memorial service in Fort Wayne.
