The "strongest hurricane ever recorded by the U.S. National Hurricane Center" is bearing down on the coast of Mexico. There is potential for it to be worse than Hurricanes Andrew and Katrina. LCMS Disaster Response is keeping a watch on it in the event that they need to mobilize to assist with recovery efforts.

Remember, heavenly Father, all those in peril from the path of hurricane Patricia. Have mercy and grant them Your saving peace. Bless the last minute preparations of the government and relief agencies that many lives may be spared. Make Your people's confidence in Your unfailing love be a shining light among those who do not know You that they may also take refuge in Your comfort in this time of distress. We ask it all in the holy name of Jesus. Amen.
