The Lord be with you

Today was the wedding of Jake and Jeana. Jake is the brother of Kitty, so that makes Jeana my new sister-in-law. The day itself was shaped entirely by the wedding. We were either getting ready for the wedding, at the wedding, at the party after the wedding, or cleaning up after the party.

The wedding took place at Sunset Cliffs. While a beautiful setting, the number of people allowed at a function like this at Sunset Cliffs is limited. So there were actually more people at the post-wedding party than at the wedding. The post-wedding party was at Diane Miller’s home (Jake’s mother). There was plenty of family from Jeana’s side of the family. My mother was here, also my brother Steve and his wife Tracy, my sister Claire and husband Gerry, nephews and nieces Andy and Laura, Amy and Tim, and Max, and grand nephew Zack.

One bit of marriage advice from Martin Luther that I feel is excellent comes from his Large Catechism. Husbands and wives should consider each other God’s greatest gift to each other right after their salvation.

The pictures below are:

2. In the center Kitty (my wife), Elena (my mom), and Steve (my brother)

7. The wedding site, those little people are setting up for the wedding.

Blessings in Christ,
Pastor John Rickert

  1. Gregory was in charge of the margarita bicycle all night long - he must have pedaled 15 miles at least! He even got a few tips! There was music & dancing, the Taco Man, who was amazing and scads of people! Kitty retreated to the house where there was a smaller throng; more her speed was chatting with the elderly and playing with the kids.
