Wednesday after Epiphany 4

The Lord be with you
Lent begins in just one week with Ash Wednesday. Lutheran
Hour Ministries, as is their practice, will offer daily devotions. In the past,
these have been offered in a print form. However LHM has changed with the times.
They now offer the devotions in a downloadable form, and the local churches can
run off copies to distribute. We are going to put a twist on their suggestion.
Each day the LHM devotion will be posted on this blog, beginning with Ash Wednesday.
The devotional series is titled: “From the Cradle to the
Empty Grave.”
Concerning the series, LHM writes: “When we left the
Christmas story Jesus was growing up with Mary and Joseph in the town of Nazareth,
far north of Bethlehem and Jerusalem,
the capital city of Judea. Now we
pick up His story with one last childhood recollection, before moving on to
consider the man Jesus. Following His life and ministry we will unfold the reasons
He was born in Bethlehem in the
first place, and see the great work He came to do for all of us.”
Join us in the coming weeks, as Jesus fulfills His destiny
making His way to the cross and empty tomb.
Blessings in Christ,
Pastor John Rickert
