Ash Wednesday Homily: “The Ten Commandments for Life”

Because our Ash Wednesday services incorporate the imposition of ashes and the celebration of the Lord’s Supper, they are longer than our other Lenten services. The liturgy for our 12:15 service is spoken and we sing only one hymn. The liturgy for our 7:00 service includes chanting and three hymns. Therefore the evening service is longer.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent.
